Alex believes in a real-life approach to improving nutrition status. She insists there is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” approach to wellness and treats everyone as unique individuals, tailoring her recommendations to fit their specific needs and goals. Alex also strives to cut through the misconceptions surrounding registered dietitians being judgmental and strict with food rules or diet perfection. While she promotes optimal nutrition, she encourages cooking and eating enjoyable foods—they do not have to be opposing concepts. Yes, she too eats pizza and baked goods (guilt-free), because sometimes these are the foods that fit, in moderation. She believes we live in real life and we have to figure out how to live healthfully in it, and she is here to help. As a go-to nutrition resource, Alex has been quoted in Cosmopolitan and on many websites including GLAMOUR, SHAPE, iVillage, GalTime and Food Network’s Healthy Eats Blog.
