Foodie Gifts! Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffin Jars ~ Recipe ReDux

I love baking and sharing baked goods with others, especially around the holidays. Last holiday season, I made Vanilla Scented Sugar for my loved ones. This year it will be homemade Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins:
Original, Peanut Butter and Banana
For this month’s Recipe ReDux theme of merry mixes, I shrunk and adapted a fabulous muffin recipe into a sweet holiday gift. Not only is this a tasty recipe, but it cuts prep time in half for your gift recipient. Even better, you’re giving three fabulous options – original, banana and peanut butter! Use the below recipe to assemble mason jar muffin gifts and attach a gift tag with the directions for completing the recipe. Don’t forget to give them the complete recipe so they can make it again after they’ve gobbled up the first batch and are dying to try the peanut butter variety.

Dash salt
3 Tbsp. packed light brown sugar
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 Tbsp. canola oil
1/3 cup milk, plus a splash more

Banana Variety Ingredients
1 medium banana, chopped
1 large egg
1/3 cup milk
½ tsp. vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Empty contents of jar into a bowl and mix to combine. In a separate bowl, combine original or the variety ingredients of your choice. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
Spoon batter into lined muffin tins, two-thirds full. If you have empty muffin slots, add a little water to the empty spots to ensure even baking. Bake for approximately 15-17 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean (with the exception of melted chocolate). Enjoy!

These look delish. I can never have too many muffins. They would make great gifts. Thank you! It makes me hungry thinking about them.
Love the 3 options! And great idea for the vanilla scented sugar from last year. Honestly…THIS is the gift I’ll package up this year! (:
Thank you for the great idea! It’s great!
